Thanks for the book suggestions ArtistOz.:) Matt, up until now I have used nothing but myself as a study, but there are some body parts that are hard to get a good idea of when you're using yourself. Theres only so much a mirror can show. And only so many body parts that males and females have in common lol And even those body parts we do have in common, there are still differences between the sexes. I'm hoping to find a book that can help with those between parts that we cannot decifer quite so easily with just ourselves as models. Then again, I could always start prodding and poking my partner when I need ideas on the male body LOL He'd be thrilled with that idea:p.
I have really enjoyed 'anatomy for the artist' by jeno barcsay. A great reference for skeletonal system and muscles and dealing with various postional stands. I got it on sale at barnes and noble for 20-25 dollars it is a hard back book. If you are looking for inexpensive books try half.com it is part of the e-bay system.
That sells books, textbooks that are used usually so are new. But there can be a big difference in prices.

My instructor has recommended that one of the best ways to learn the anatomy is to start by drawing the bones and then laying the muscles on top.
