So, I have added another piece to the fleet. My review, I have used now on 8 of the properties I maintain, some small tighter property's and sprawling slopes. Pros On the smaller properties, with a lot of obstacles it operated with a surprisingly amount of mobility, it is a bit challenging but that will come with usage. On the large sloping properties, it is a beast, quite impressed. Not necessarily Cons but more from a technical perspective. Transmission gearage, 1 is way to slow and 2 is 2 fast, Cut, it cuts excellent but, it also leaves no cut lines. Any thoughts?

I have owned the DR 14.5 Pro model for a few months now. I have not had the opportunity to use the brush mower but I have used the lawn deck about a dozen times. The geometry of the pulley setup needs improvement.

On an average 1 hour mowing session I would have to reset the belt 3-4 times as it keeps popping off of the pulleys. I had tried the different deck heights and have varied the throttle speed in an effort to stop the problem. Nothing seems to correct the problem entirely.

I was very disappointed this last time as I had rented a trailer and hauled the mower 100 miles to a 1 acre property that I have in the country. After 30 seconds of operation, the belt popped off, got wrapped in the drivetrain which forcibly yanked the belt off the drive pulley. The force was enough to bend the drive pulley. The deck was set at the 3 inch setting and the throttle was set about 1/2. I am forwarding pictures of the event under separate email. Free Software For Mac more.

This event is the beginning of a love/hate relationship with my new DR mower. Response from DR SupportThank you for your feedback on the DR® 42” Lawn Attachment that you recently purchased. I have had my DR for over 10 years.

I did not buy it with the Brush deck, instead I bought it with the 42' Lawn deck and the Snow blower attachment. I'm very hard with the Lawn Deck. I've replaced the Spindle Assembly's multiple times. My yard over the years is much better, less rocks, less tree roots. DR offered the Lawn Deck at $500 a bunch of year back so it made sense to buy a new deck verses replacing the parts I keep breaking. I was reading the Reviews and agree that putting on the Drive belt with two people makes it very easy.

I can make the Change over in under 5 minutes. Without help, you will need to take the Plastic cover off one of the Spindle Assembly pulley to take the tension off the belt.

I also agree the Plastic Spindle Assembly cover breaks at the Screw connection. (Plastic is very thin) I like the Knobby tires on the Deck.

The Original deck had smooth tires. One reviewer asked that the Tires be locked in the forward direction, but I need the 360 spin, I make that machine spin corners to make perfect Cutting lines. My family calls it the Beast, it is hard to turn. I could have bought a Pro Grass cutter with Hand controls for each tire, but the Beauty of the DR is it can be multiple machines. The DR machine was never meant to be a Professional Lawn cutting machine.

It does not have independent brakes on each wheel to make turns on a dime, DR is offering this instead of buy a Lawn Tractor, Lawn Mower or Pro Lawn deck. DR made a machine that is a Field and Brush Mover, Lawn Mower, Snow Thrower, Chipper, plow and some of us have the Generator attachment. If anyone has a Lawn Tractor and you have to replace the belt, change the Blades or event take the deck off. The DR hands down is the winner!

The mower deck was easy to assemble, except that the bag of parts had been ripped in shipping and half the parts were lost. I called DR customer support and they shipped me the missing items right away. Got it all assembled and tested it out on my 2 acre yard. The only downside I found was that is I set the mower cutting height lower than 3 inches then it threw the belt every time I engaged the mower deck.
